Zanzibar

Zanzibar is the ideal location for a beach holiday and caters for all budgets. Dubai to Africa has three lodges selected each in a different budget range. All three are top of their class and have top facilities. Matemwe is the most expensive, offering exclusivity with only 10 very spacious bandas on the ocean. Shooting Star and Fumba are very good priced offering also beach bandas but have more rooms.

Matemwe Bungalows

Set on a coral cliff overlooking a fine powder beach and distant coral reef, Matemwe Bungalows is a small and luxurious beach lodge. The lodge is tucked away on the northeast coast of Zanzibar and has a total of 14 beach-front-rooms; which are roughly split half and half into suites and standard rooms. Shooting Star Lodge

Nestled on a headland, amongst lush tropical gardens, The Shooting Star Lodge overlooks the beautiful fine white sands and coconut palms of Kiwengwa beach. The atmosphere is intimate and tranquil with spectacular views across a coral reef to the azure Indian Ocean beyond. The ten Sea View Cottages are light, spacious en-suite rooms built in keeping with traditional Zanzibari styles of architecture with airy, high beamed ceilings, large windows and air-conditioning. All have traditionally carved wooden Zanzibari beds, with beautifully dyed mosquito net canopies and matching Tanzanian ‘vintage’ bed covers, along with coconut wood wall mirrors and other hand-made teak wood furniture. Four of the Sea View Cottages are set out on two levels and are ideal for families.
